Uses:
Intacoxia 120 mg tablet contains etoricoxib, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, which is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It is primarily used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute gouty arthritis, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. It can also be prescribed for short-term management of post-operative dental pain or other acute pain conditions. By blocking the COX-2 enzyme, it reduces production of prostaglandins, chemicals that cause pain, swelling, and inflammation, without significantly affecting the stomach-protective COX-1 enzyme.

Side Effects:
Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, heartburn, stomach pain, indigestion, swelling in legs or feet, and flu-like symptoms. Some individuals may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation. Less common but serious side effects can include increased blood pressure, shortness of breath, chest pain, sudden weight gain, and allergic reactions such as rash or facial swelling. Long-term or high-dose use may increase risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack or stroke, especially in patients with pre-existing heart disease. It may also cause liver function changes, kidney issues, or gastrointestinal problems in sensitive individuals. Use should be as prescribed, and patients should report unusual symptoms immediately.
