Itracip 100 Tablet contains Itraconazole 100 mg, an antifungal medication used to treat a variety of fungal infections. It belongs to the class of triazole antifungals and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, thereby killing the fungus and preventing its growth.
Uses of Itracip 100:
Itracip is primarily used to treat fungal infections of the skin, nails, mouth, throat, esophagus, lungs, and other internal organs. Common conditions include dermatophytosis, candidiasis, tinea infections, and aspergillosis. It is also prescribed for fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) and systemic mycoses in immunocompromised patients.
Side Effects of Itracip 100:
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Common ones include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and skin rash. Some individuals may experience elevated liver enzymes or signs of liver damage like yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), dark urine, and fatigue. Rare but serious side effects include allergic reactions, heart failure symptoms (shortness of breath, swelling of ankles), or numbness/tingling in hands and feet. It is important to avoid alcohol and inform your doctor about liver, kidney, or heart conditions before using this medicine. Take it after food for better absorption and always complete the prescribed course.
