Description
Itroteb-IT Tablet is a combination medication containing Itraconazole (an antifungal) and Ivermectin (an antiparasitic). It is mainly prescribed for mixed infections caused by fungi and parasites, particularly when both types of pathogens may be involved.
Uses:
Treatment of skin, hair, and nail fungal infections (dermatophytosis, onychomycosis)
Management of scabies, head lice, or other parasitic infestations
Treatment of mixed fungal and parasitic skin conditions
Occasionally used in resistant or recurrent fungal infections where parasite control is also needed
May be prescribed in immunocompromised patients to reduce infection risk
Side Effects:
Common: Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, loss of appetite
Skin-related: Rash, itching, redness, or mild swelling
Neurological: Headache, dizziness, tiredness
Liver effects: Elevated liver enzymes, jaundice (rare but serious; requires immediate medical attention)
Allergic reactions: Swelling of face/lips, breathing difficulty (rare emergency)
Others: Muscle pain, changes in taste, fever
It should be taken only under medical supervision, as both Itraconazole and Ivermectin can have interactions with other drugs and may not be safe for patients with liver, kidney, or heart issues. Avoid alcohol during treatment to reduce liver strain.
