Description

Liquin 500 Tablet is a medication that contains Levofloxacin 500 mg, which is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by inhibiting bacterial enzymes (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV), which are essential for bacterial DNA replication, thereby killing or stopping the growth of bacteria.

Uses:

• Treatment of respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis

• Management of urinary tract infections (UTIs), including complicated and recurrent cases

• Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections caused by susceptible bacteria

• Management of bone and joint infections and intra-abdominal infections

• Effective against infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria

Side Effects:
Liquin 500 is generally effective but may cause some side effects, including:

• Common: Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, headache, dizziness

• Occasional: Insomnia, fatigue, mild rash, or joint/muscle pain

• Serious but rare: Tendon rupture or inflammation (especially in older adults), nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy), severe allergic reactions, liver problems, irregular heartbeat, or severe diarrhea due to Clostridium difficile infection

Precautions:

• Take exactly as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve

• Avoid excessive sunlight as it may cause photosensitivity

• Use cautiously in patients with kidney or liver disease, and avoid in pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor
