Migrafen Tablet is a combination medicine commonly containing Ergotamine, Caffeine, Paracetamol, and Prochlorperazine. It is primarily used for the treatment and relief of acute migraine attacks and migraine-associated symptoms such as headache, nausea, and vomiting. Ergotamine works by constricting dilated blood vessels in the brain, Caffeine enhances the effect of Ergotamine, Paracetamol provides pain relief, and Prochlorperazine helps control nausea and vomiting. It is generally taken at the onset of migraine symptoms to reduce intensity and duration.
Side Effects of Migrafen Tablet
Possible side effects include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, stomach upset, dry mouth, and restlessness. Some individuals may experience weakness, tingling or numbness in fingers and toes, or muscle pain. Rare but serious effects include chest pain, irregular heartbeat, severe limb pain, or signs of reduced blood flow to extremities. Prolonged or excessive use may lead to medication-overuse headaches or ergotism (severe blood vessel constriction). Allergic reactions such as rash, swelling, or difficulty breathing can also occur. People with heart disease, high blood pressure, or circulation problems should use it only under strict medical supervision.
