MONTECIP LC Tablet is a combination medicine containing Levocetirizine (an antihistamine) and Montelukast (a leukotriene receptor antagonist). It is commonly used to manage allergic rhinitis, asthma, and seasonal allergies like sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itching, watery eyes, and breathing difficulties caused by allergens such as dust, pollen, or pet dander.

Levocetirizine works by blocking histamine, a chemical responsible for allergy symptoms, while Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, which cause inflammation, swelling, and narrowing of airways in asthma and allergies. Together, they help in reducing both nasal and respiratory symptoms effectively.

Common Uses:

• Allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial)

• Asthma (as an add-on therapy)

• Urticaria (hives)

• Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies

Side Effects:

• Common: Drowsiness, dry mouth, headache, fatigue, stomach discomfort

• Occasional: Dizziness, nausea, sore throat, cough

• Rare but serious: Mood changes (agitation, aggression, depression), hallucinations, or allergic reactions like rash or swelling
