Description
Norlut-N is a hormonal medicine containing norethisterone, a synthetic form of the female hormone progesterone. It is commonly prescribed to treat various menstrual and hormone-related issues.
Uses:
Norlut-N is used to manage irregular menstrual cycles, heavy bleeding, painful periods (dysmenorrhea), and absence of menstruation (amenorrhea). It is also prescribed to delay periods, treat endometriosis, and premenstrual syndrome (PMS). In some cases, it helps manage hormone-sensitive conditions such as breast cancer or endometrial cancer, depending on the doctor’s recommendation.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include nausea, headache, bloating, breast tenderness, and tiredness. Some women may experience mood changes, dizziness, or acne. Irregular bleeding or spotting between periods can also occur, especially in the initial stages of treatment. Serious side effects like jaundice, blood clots, or vision changes are rare but may require immediate medical attention.
Norlut-N should only be taken under medical supervision, especially in individuals with a history of liver disease, blood clotting disorders, or hormone-related cancers. It is not recommended during pregnancy. Always follow your doctorβs dosage and instructions carefully.
