Description

Rednisol 16 Tablet contains Methylprednisolone 16 mg, a corticosteroid medicine used to reduce inflammation and suppress overactive immune responses in various conditions. It works by blocking the release of inflammatory chemicals in the body, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and allergic reactions.

Uses:

• Treatment of allergic conditions like severe asthma, skin allergies, and hay fever

• Management of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis

• Control of inflammation in conditions like ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease

• Relief from swelling and pain in joint, muscle, and soft tissue disorders

• Management of certain severe infections (with antibiotics) to reduce inflammation

• Used in some hormonal disorders like adrenal insufficiency (as prescribed)

Side Effects:
Rednisol 16 may cause:

• Common: Stomach upset, increased appetite, mood changes, insomnia, fluid retention

• Occasional: Weight gain, acne, excessive hair growth, muscle weakness

• Long-term or high-dose use: Osteoporosis, increased risk of infections, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, eye problems (glaucoma, cataract)

• Rare: Severe allergic reaction, mood disturbances, adrenal suppression

Precautions:
Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food. Do not stop suddenly; tapering is required to avoid withdrawal symptoms. Use cautiously in diabetes, hypertension, and infection-prone patients under strict medical supervision.
