Description

Rozutin 5 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 5 mg, a cholesterol-lowering medicine belonging to the class of drugs known as statins. It works by blocking the enzyme (HMG-CoA reductase) responsible for cholesterol production in the liver, thereby reducing bad cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides, and increasing good cholesterol (HDL).

Uses:

• Management of high cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) to lower total cholesterol, LDL, and triglycerides

• Prevention of atherosclerosis (hardening of arteries) and improvement of blood flow

• Reduces the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular events in high-risk patients

• Used in patients with family history of high cholesterol or those who cannot control cholesterol with diet and exercise alone

• May also be prescribed in combination with other lipid-lowering therapies for better results

Side Effects:
Rozutin 5 is usually well tolerated, but some patients may experience:

• Common: Headache, dizziness, constipation, stomach pain, muscle pain, or weakness

• Occasional: Nausea, joint pain, tiredness, sleep disturbances

• Rare but serious: Severe muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), liver function abnormalities, allergic reactions with swelling or rash

Precautions:
Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Regular monitoring of liver enzymes and lipid profile is advised. Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Should be taken under strict medical supervision along with a healthy diet and exercise regimen.
