Description
Uses:
Vomiford 4 mg tablet contains ondansetron, which is an antiemetic medicine. It is mainly used to prevent and treat nausea and vomiting caused by surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation therapy. It works by blocking serotonin receptors in the brain and gut that trigger the vomiting reflex. Doctors may also prescribe it for nausea and vomiting due to gastroenteritis, post-operative recovery, or certain medical conditions.
Side Effects:
Common side effects include headache, dizziness, constipation, and feeling of warmth or flushing. Some people may experience fatigue or mild diarrhea. Serious but rare side effects can include allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing), irregular heartbeat, blurred vision, or severe dizziness. In very rare cases, ondansetron may cause serotonin syndrome, especially if taken with other serotonin-affecting medicines, leading to symptoms like agitation, confusion, muscle stiffness, or rapid heartbeat.
Important: This medicine should be used only under medical supervision. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, and people with liver problems or heart rhythm disorders, should inform their doctor before use. Avoid exceeding the prescribed dose.
