Zoclar 500 is an antibiotic belonging to the macrolide group. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Its most common uses include:

1. Respiratory Tract Infections: Treats conditions like bronchitis, pneumonia, sinusitis, and throat infections.

2. Skin and Soft Tissue Infections: Effective in treating infections like cellulitis, impetigo, or infected wounds.

3. Helicobacter pylori Eradication: Used in combination with other medicines to treat H. pylori infections that cause peptic ulcers.

4. Ear Infections: Prescribed for middle ear infections, especially in children.

5. Dental Infections: Sometimes used as an alternative antibiotic in dental abscesses.

Zoclar works by stopping the growth of bacteria. It is ineffective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

Side Effects:
While Zoclar is generally well-tolerated, some people may experience side effects. Common ones include:
